SHAKEEL SALEEMI

Shakeel Saleemi is an experienced Criminal and Child Care Solicitor. He was admitted in 2002 and shortly after, completed the Police Station Accreditation and Magistrates Court Qualification. He is currently in the process of completing his Higher Rights Advocacy portfolio in both criminal and civil law.

He has significant experience representing clients facing Crown Court trial and strives hard to achieve the best possible outcome for his clients. Recent acquittals include s18 GBH and Rape. He has been involved in cases where the defendant has turned Queensıs evidence resulting in hearings in camera and engagement with the Witness Protection Programme.
He is currently the lead solicitor in a large and complex case involving the West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit (the case is ongoing April 2008).
Shakeel is a member of the Law Society Children Panel and has extensive experience in representing children, childrenıs guardians, parents and interveners. He has dealt with children cases involving non-accidental injuries; fractures; subdural haematomas; and cases involving sexual, physical and emotional abuse.
He has regularly appeared before Magistrates, District Judges, Circuit, and High Court Judges.
Contact matters with non-resident parents, parental responsibility, injunctions and international child abduction issues have been undertaken.
In the latter case, Shakeel was involved in a potential child abduction matter where emergency orders were obtained and Port Alerts were issued resulting in a successful outcome for the clients and the child.
